We just love ice cream!

Our story begins in Paterson NJ. Chef Mike Guerriero grew up in the rough Riverside and Alabama project sections of Paterson. To stay out of trouble he worked in the kitchen with his grandmother preparing her secret recipes that the entire family would fight over every Sunday.

At 14 Mike went to work at Gelotti, a famous Ice Cream shop in the heart of Paterson, working his way up from dishwasher to the Gelato Chef he is today.

In 2014 Mike and his Wife Bre took over Gelotti Caldwell and helped resurrect it after its closing. In 2016 on his 25th Birthday, Mike & Bre opened Gelotti Montclair.

In 2017 Mike competed in the Gelato Festival America, and became the first ever American Born Chef to win, earning himself a spot in the finals.

In 2019 all the winners of 2017 & 2018 across 8 states met in Miami for the Finals, where Mike succeeded in becoming the first American Born Champion, and the #1 Gelato Chef in North America.

In 2019 Mike and Bre opened their first Morris County Location in Randolph and split off from the original Gelotti brand, and formed Gelati by Mike, rebranding all their shops in their signature purple and incorporating their signature flavor (Blueberry Basil) in the logo. 

Mike will represent the United State in Italy in the 2021 Gelato Festival World Masters.
